    January 26th, 2012 by admin

After a routine dental procedure turned tragic a family in Maryland is seeking legal and financial compensation following the death of their teenage daughter.  The family officially filed a wrongful death lawsuit this week in court.

According to reports, the Olenicvk family is seeking damages against the anesthesiologist and surgeon who performed a wisdom tooth extraction for their daughter, 17 year old Jennifer who was a junior at Marriots Ridge High School.  Ten days following what should have been a run-of-the-mill dental surgery, Jennifer passed away.  The lawsuit states that she experienced a significant loss of oxygen during the procedure.  .

Within the court reports it specifically declares that “Dr. Krista Mechelle Issacs, the anesthesiologist, and Dr. Domenick Colleti, the oral surgeon, were negligent and are guilty of medical malpractice.”  Furthermore the family is claiming that the doctors failed to revive or even attempt any forms of resuscitation for the patient after her heart rate dropped to a dangerous low rate of 40 beats per minute.

If you or anyone you know has been the victim of a doctor’s wrongdoing, you should contact a Maryland medical malpractice lawyer to discuss your legal rights.
